Available Position:

Construction Electrician

Applicant must possess as a minimum one of the following: (Two of the following are preferred for applicants with a high school degree and two of the following are required of applicants with GEDs)

–           High School Diploma with a minimum of 1-year in high school math of Algebra or above.

–           G.E.D. certificate

–           Graduation from a 2-Year course in Electricity from a Community College (For the express purpose of formally training the student as an electrician)

–           A minimum of one year of formal apprenticeship training that is documentable. This training could be from the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) or the ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors). 

–           A license stating that the applicant has taken a prescribed course of study and passed a written examination certifying the applicant as an Electrician. The certifying authority must be a State or Local authority having an appropriately setup inspection department who regularly issues journeyman licensing certificates. 

Applicant must be able to demonstrate one the following work experience:

–           5-years of continuous work experience with an Electrical Contractor(s) doing Industrial or Commercial electrical projects.

–           5-years of continuous work experience divided up between:

–           Electrical construction of Industrial or Commercial type projects

–           Electrical Maintenance in plants using motors, lighting and other systems found in construction.

Applicant must be able to document experience with a minimum of (5) Five of the following types of materials or proficiently use any of the following pieces of construction equipment: (Check all that apply):

–           PVC

–           GRC/IMC

–           EMT

–           600-volt conductor installation and termination

–           Switchgear to include Motor Control Centers & Panel boards

–           Medium voltage (600 to 15KV) cable installation and terminations

–           Lighting controls (to include Passive Infrared Sensors and LED dimming systems)

–           Backhoe or Track hoe

–           Mini Excavator

–           Trencher

–           Bucket Truck (Requires type A CDL to claim this experience)

–           Line Truck (Requires a type A CDL to claim this experience) 

Preference will be given to applicants who have a minimum of 1-year experience in any of the following specialty types of work.

–           Airport, medium voltage, 5KV series lighting installation to include installation of airport navigation systems

–           Traffic Signal installation to include experience with ITS (Intelligent Traffic Signal equipment such as cameras or weigh-in-motion systems)

–           Interstate and roadway lighting systems to include high mast and low mast lighting systems.

Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate the following ratings or experience:

–           Possess a Class A CDL and has experience using a Line Truck or Bucket Truck.

–           Has a minimum of three years of documentable experience using heavy equipment such as Backhoes, Track hoes, or Mini-Excavators 

Applicant must have dependable transportation.
